Valparaiso University is inviting the Valparaiso community to participate in several Halloween-themed events hosted on campus, offering a range of activities for various interests and age groups. The University has stated that whether individuals are seeking candy, scares, or a fun evening out, there are options available for families to enjoy. Costumes are encouraged for all events, which are free to attend unless otherwise specified.
One such event is an indoor trick-or-treating opportunity, where various departments from the Valparaiso University faculty and staff will exercise their creative skills. They will be designing and setting up themed tables for families to collect candy indoors.
The University’s Symphony Orchestra is scheduled to present its fourth annual Halloween Spooktacular concert. This musical performance welcomes attendees of all ages, and wearing costumes is encouraged for those who wish to participate in the festive atmosphere.
For sports enthusiasts, the Valparaiso University men’s basketball team will host its first home game of the season against Olivet Nazarene University. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. at the Athletic-Recreation Center (ARC). This particular game is designated as a Halloween-themed event and will feature a costume contest for attendees. Tickets for the game are available for purchase.
Additionally, Valparaiso University is offering a science-focused event described as a "spooky spin on science." Participants will have the chance to engage in hands-on experiments, which are designed to be "slimy, glowing, and noisy." The event also promises "other surprises." Organizers have indicated that the activities will not be "overly scary," but acknowledged that learning new concepts might be startling. For those attending, parking is advised in lots one and two, located on the southeast corner of campus. Entry to the event should be made through the doors on the south side of the building, which face the designated parking lots.
These events collectively provide diverse opportunities for the community to engage with the university campus during the Halloween season, with options ranging from musical performances and sporting events to educational activities and traditional trick-or-treating experiences.
