A longtime resident of Valparaiso and a recognized community advocate, Jackson has a history of significant local engagement. Her past leadership roles include serving as President of Valparaiso Noon Kiwanis and President of the Valparaiso Quarterback Club. She has also contributed her expertise as a board member for organizations such as Rebuilding Together Valparaiso, the Valparaiso Parks Foundation itself, and the Kiwanis Foundation. Additionally, Jackson has co-chaired committees for the Valparaiso Popcorn Festival and provided volunteer support for numerous other community and fundraising events.

Her commitment to service has been recognized through several honors. These include being named Distinguished Kiwanis Club President for the 2017–2018 term, receiving the Kiwanis Volunteer of the Year award, and being honored as the Valparaiso Family YMCA Volunteer of the Year.

Jackson expressed her enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating that she is "truly excited for this next chapter" and to continue serving a community that holds significant personal meaning for her, according to a local news report. She added that she looks forward to collaborating with the Foundation, the Parks Department, and community partners to create a lasting positive impact for families and future generations in Valparaiso.

Leonhard commented that Jackson knows how to "bring people together" and contribute to the community, as he told a local news report. He further expressed his anticipation of working closely with Jackson to ensure Valparaiso's parks remain a source of community pride for years to come.

Jackson's new role is expected to leverage her wealth of experience, established community relationships, and a lifelong dedication to service in support of the Valparaiso Parks Foundation's mission. The Valpo Parks Foundation operates as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, providing avenues for the community to support the ongoing legacy of high-quality experiences offered by Valpo Parks.
